We’re extremely excited to announce that CEO, Greg Viljoen, has been invited to co-host a workshop at Global Festival of Action 2020.
The workshop is titled: How to increase the impact of digital storytelling: Local Stories for the Global Goals
If you are familiar with the Bigger Than Me story then you will know that storytelling and content marketing for a cause, i.e. cause marketing is one of our core services.
As a Creative Social Change Agency, Bigger Than Me focuses on creating a for-benefit strategy to lead to a for-profit bottom line.
Using inbound marketing principles, we look for ways to connect a brand, NPO or social change agent to their audience through the power of content creation, creative concepts, social media, digital and shared value strategy, storytelling, branded events and cause marketing.
Greg attended last year’s Global Festival of Action and returned with valuable insight as to how these global goals can and should be adapted to the challenges in Africa, noting that creating narratives that appeal to the youth is critical.

About SDG Global Festival of Action

Over 1,500 participants gather from across the globe to present, discuss and inspire change and to further the collective aim to achieve Sustainable Development Goals.
2020 is seen as a critical year to accelerate progress toward these goals as this year is also the kick start of the Decade of Action announced by the UN Secretary-General and marks the UN’s 75th anniversary.
The 2020 festival features a range of session, workshop and meeting formats each positioned to further understanding and awareness, build practical skills and networks and be inspired by SDG Leaders.
The Festival also nurtures the growing SDG Action Community by making available a global platform to launch new campaigns, host network meetings and scout new initiatives and changemakers working towards the achievements of the Goals.
Greg’s participation at the Global Festival of Action 2020 comes from his, and Bigger Than Me’s, involvement in proactively furthering the goals for better sustainability from a South African perspective.
